The page opens by stating that Tehran has five treatment plants in operation and then gives, for each, the consultant, the designer and contractor, the year of entry into service and the design capacity. Decimal figures on that page are stored with the digit groups reversed, so the design capacities printed as 7/2 and 5/7 cubic metres per second are 2.7 and 7.5, and the Telo tunnel printed as 7/2 metres is 2.7 metres. The reversal is confirmed by the raw water channel dimensions on the same page, printed as 26/38 metres long, 6-5/9 metres wide and 4-8/6 metres deep, which only read sensibly as 38.26 m, 9.5 to 6 m and 6.8 to 4 m. Raw water reaches the plant from the Karaj river and the Taleqan dam through the Bilaqan intake, 33 km in two 2,000 mm concrete pipes. Clarification is by Pulsator, filtration is gravity rapid sand, coagulant is ferric chloride, pH is trimmed with lime and disinfection is by chlorine.
