Earthfill dam with a clay core, 55 m high from foundation with a crest length of 460 m, in Hormozgan 146 km south of Bandar Abbas and 34 km south-east of Minab; total reservoir 61 million m3 with 48.4 million m3 useful over 3.961 km2 and a 7 km lake; the scheme allocates 19 million m3 a year to drinking water and 9 million m3 a year to groundwater recharge in southern Hormozgan; a 38 km gravity conveyance of 1 m diameter in steel and GRP; a conventional treatment plant designed for 1 m3/s clarification and 2 m3/s filtration to below 1 NTU with aeration, microstraining and ozonation; contractors National Building Company for the dam body, Payab Kousar for the diversion tunnel and Zhian for the access road; the project was transferred from the Hormozgan Regional Water Company to IWPCO in June 2015.
