Treated effluent is to fill the hill reservoirs of Parc Dounia, 1,059 ha, for green space irrigation, then to reinforce the non-conventional watering network of the southern ring road, irrigate the Bainem and Bouchaoui forests in the medium term and serve farmland at Ain Benian, Beni Messous, Cheraga, Staoueli, Ouled Fayet and Dely Brahim; works were 80 per cent complete in the 2021 ministry report.
